Hyderabad-based company introduces India’s foremost AI-powered anti-drone system.

Grene Robotics, a firm based in Hyderabad, India, has made a significant leap in bolstering India’s defense capabilities with the introduction of their ground-breaking anti-drone system known as “Indrajaal.” This AI-integrated security tool marks a pivotal moment in safeguarding critical assets, facilities, and urban areas from potential drone threats, signalling a crucial phase in India’s advancement in defense technology.

In response to the escalating threat of malicious drone activities across the country, the unveiling of Indrajaal couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. The first eight months of 2023 have already witnessed 200 instances of hostile drone incidents, underscoring the pressing need for enhanced defense measures. Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, the Governor of Uttarakhand, recognizes Indrajaal as a forward-looking deterrent that addresses the mounting security challenges in defense and public infrastructure sectors.

Covering an impressive area of 4000 square kilometers, Indrajaal stands out as the world’s most extensive Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS), providing comprehensive protection against evolving threats that traditional stationary defense systems struggle to effectively combat. Kiran Raju, the visionary founder of Grene Robotics, explains that the system incorporates a multifaceted technological framework reinforced by artificial intelligence, delivering unmatched all-round security. It excels in rapidly detecting, locating, and neutralizing threats, often within a short time frame ranging from seconds to minutes, offering a swift response to imminent drone attacks.

Indrajaal is poised to redefine drone security by addressing a wide range of threats, including low radar cross-section (RCS) hazards, as well as medium to high-altitude sustained operation (MALE and HALE) UAVs, loitering munitions, and mass drone infiltrations. This innovation is the result of collaboration among a team of experts, including Wing Commander Sai Mallela, who brings extensive knowledge in network-centric operations and defense technologies.

Despite its state-of-the-art features, the Indrajaal system presents a cost-effective approach to national security, akin to protective measures observed in level 4 data centers. It emerges as a crucial investment, promising comprehensive security against contemporary aerial threats, thanks to its extensive coverage capacity that facilitates unified operation and command control in safeguarding critical areas.
