The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will offer a free 5-day online course from August 19 to 23, focusing on essential skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This course, part of the IIRS outreach programme, aims to foster innovation in the space sector and beyond, with no fee required for participation.

Designed for professionals, students, and researchers in fields such as civil engineering, computer science, and geoinformatics, the course encourages those interested in applying AI, ML, and deep learning (DL) to geospatial applications.

Course Content:

  • Introduction to AI, ML, and DL
  • Methods in Machine Learning: Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement
  • Deep Learning concepts including CNN, RNN, R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, SSD, YOLO, etc., and their applications
  • Spaceborne Lidar Systems
  • Machine learning through Google Earth Engine
  • Python for Machine/Deep Learning Models

Participants will receive lecture slides, video-recorded lectures, open-source software, and demonstration handouts via the e-class platform.
